Safe to travel in the area around Renndølssetra
We would like to clarify that the aforementioned landslide that may be in progress from the foot of Skarfjellet will NOT affect either the parking lot, the road into Innerdalen, or Renndølsetra. Neither will any of the paths out of the setra be affected.
Sunndal Municipality has received a report of possible ongoing rock avalanche activity at Skarfjell. This is located several kilometers away from Renndølssetra, and there is no acute danger to those traveling in Innerdalen.
NVE has conducted modeling of the outflow from a possible landslide from Skarfjell, and the results show that a landslide will not reach the announced settlements or Innerdalsvatnet, or the path up towards Innerdalen, but it could reach the Ålvundelva River and further.
